Challenge
Late 2017, Lisa Bauman was tasked with writing the content for 4 new career development courses at Conestoga College. One of the key aspects of the new courses was the selection of a self-assessment tool that would allow students to identify their strengths, assets, interests and values
Solution
Over the next nine months, Conestoga worked to embed the Who You Are Matters! game experience as well as Online Storyteller into three of the four Career Development courses at Conestoga College.
"My goal was to find a tool that engages students creative and dynamic ways. When I stumbled upon the Who You Are Matters! game offered by OneLifeTools in January 2018 at the national career development conference, Cannexus, I knew right away students would engage with the game experience."
- Lisa Bauman, Program Manager and Part Time Career Development Professor, Conestoga College
Results
Since the launch of the new courses in fall 2018 over 5000 students have participated in the Who You Are Matters! game experience and/or Online Storyteller narrative based self-assessment tool with positive feedback from students.
